PUBLIC NOTICE:

POTENTIAL REFUND OF UTILITY

TAXES PAID BY CHURCHES It has come to the attention of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors that some churches in Rappahannock County have been erroneously charged utility taxes on their telephone and/or electrical service. These charges were generally $3.00 per month and were for consumer utility service. Any church which paid such taxes is requested to provide copies of their service billings for up to the past three years (January 1996-January 1999) in order to qualify for a refund from the County of Rappahannock. Please provide copies of your billings, noting the charges to John W. McCarthy, County Administrator, at P.O. Box 519, Washington, VA 22747, or call (540) 675-3342 for further information.
