Rappahannock counties. In Rappahannock County, he initiated a full-time dental health program, which was aided by private funding.
Dr. Cervera was a 1954 graduate of Tufts University, and received his DDS degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in June 1961.
He was then commissioned in the U.S. Navy, serving as a dentist in the Medical Corps.
During his naval career, Dr. Cervera spent many months on shipboard assignments. He concluded his active duty service as an assistant dental officer in 1970, and remained in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He retired in 1980 at the rank of lieutenant commander. 4
Dr. Cervera maintained a home in Warrenton, but in recent' months had been spending more time with his family in Massachusetts, where he planned to relocate.
Dr. Cervera is survived by his brother, C. Robert Cervera of Medford, Mass.; his aunt, Helen V. Polastri and many cousins and other relatives.
A funeral mass was held Thursday, Dec. 31 at St. Raphael’s Church, West Medford.
Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
