• The yearly election of officers began the board’s business for the New Year. Massie nominated Estes as chairman, Anderson as vice chairman and representative to Planning District 9, and Ron Frazier to the planning commission. Roger Welch seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous to re-elect them.
• Superintendent of schools, David Gangel, informed the board of leaks throughout the new addition at the elementary school. “We feel slush froze in the gutters...and with freezing, melting and refreezing, water collected between the vapor barrier and insulation.” The situation was resolved by draining the water, while at the high school, more than a dozen leaks were discovered in the wing located next to the girls’ softball field.
• If agreeable to the Washington Town Council, the supervisors would like to hold a joint meeting with the council to discuss a county-town boundary adjustment. The deadline for applying for a boundary adjustment is Jan. 15.
