Food safety and sanitation is on the mind of many people. Recent outbreaks of food borne illness reported in the media bring to light the importance of practicing safe food handling.. Food service managers and employees have the opportunity to become certified with the National Restaurant Association through a course offered by the Virginia Department of Health and Virginia Cooperative Extension.
