Greetings from
Bonnie Price Lofton,
new staff member
I have been fiddling for an hour, trying to think of a way to write that I am now this newspaper’s ... Editor? News Chief? No title feels right at the moment. Last week I was a full-time mom and part-time health-writer, with no idea of working for the Rappahannock News. Late in the week I called Barbara Wayland, the executive editor, to recommend someone else for this job. Somehow Barbara and I ended up talking about me instead of my friend. So here I am, five days later, trying to introduce myself. How many of you know me as the editor of Virginia Heartland, a publication I issued last year? How many of you know me as a parent of three children who have attended county schools? Or maybe you know me as the daughter of the late Bemie Price, one of the founders of Rappahannock’s Senior Center? How many don’t know me at all?
