“They’ve got a mind of their own,” explains James Cannon, “they like to do a lot of investigating.”
One of the strays stayed close to home. Another decided it wanted to be all alone and was spotted near the intersection of Routes 729 and 640 near Viewtown.
James Cannon observed, “He doesn’t want to be captured.” And the third, who has been nicknamed “Spooky” and is a female, found her way to El Rancho Grande.
Spooky weighs about a half-ton. She has a sharp, razor back and she is a little on the thin size, as far as buffalo go.
Three miles of woods separate the buffalo ranch from El Rancho Grande. And buffaloes can travel up to 30 miles per hour, so it probably did not take Spooky long to make her journey. James Cannon theorized that "fter Spooky had traveled so iar, she was probably, “Looking for some companionship.”
