• In executive session, Luke and McCarthy informed the board of the recent Virginia Department of Environmental Quality visit to the Aileen property.
• “The landfill passed the DEQ inspections with flying colors,” said McCarthy. The site is only 35 percent full, he said, and should last about another six years.
Maintenance of the landfill for February was $36,359.10. The board'voted unanimously to award Chantilly Express the contract for leachate hauling at 1.0137 cents a gallon.
• The board approved a special exception permit for Susan Hoffman and Michael Biniek, owners of Belle Meade, to omit the previously approved octagonal building, move the school house back from Route 231; to build four cabins, and use a 100-year-old house on the property for overnight accommodations.
