Water usage was also a concern for the commission. In addition, Susan Babcock felt that the location is not appropriate. Some members, including Raymond Brown, aren’t convinced that campers will infringe on neighboring properties. L.G. “Butch” Zindel added that all of the objections could be handled with restrictions.
The commission voted 5-1, with Babcock voting no, to send the application to the Board of Supervisors for approval with a number of conditions. They include a detailed site plan, square footage of cabins, roads built to fire and rescue standards, a study on water usage being done and the understanding that the store is for patrons only.
