Virginia author Barbara Holland, who writes with wit and passion about rural life in Virginia, will read her works and sign copies at the Old Sperryville Bookshop on Saturday, June 26 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The writer is well known for her 1997 book, Bingo Night at the Firehall, which Publisher’s Weekly magazine I called “a highly engaging story I of an adventurous woman and a charming locale, filled with gentle wit, warm humor and a touch of sadness.” The book is about a dying way of life in America, the life of a small village amid the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
