Dorothy Butler
Home: Sperryville Occupation: Retired Teacher Accomplishments: Mrs. Butler taught for 37 years, 33 of which were done in Rappahannock County. After retiring from teaching in 1987, Mrs. Butler served on the Rappahannock County School Board for three years. Currently, she is president of Rappahannock Retired Teachers and Vice President of the Julia E. Boddie Scholarship Committee. Mrs. Butler is a member of First Baptist Church in Washington, where her duties include serving as clerk, President of the Missionary, assistant Sunday School teacher and Treasurer of the Usher Board. She is also a member of the Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Association, where she serves as a, member of the Advisory Council, Vice President of the Women’s Association and Secretary of thp Church Institute. Mrs. Butler is a member of the Family Guidance Advisory Council, Rappahannock County American Cancer Society Board, Household of Ruth No. 1556, Culpeper and she participates in the Prison Ministry of Rappahannock County. Mrs. Butler says that first and foremost, she is a child of God.
