At one time another Mockingbird flew to the top of the pole and joined the singer for a short time. This could only have been his mate. Was she reminding him that he h^d other duties besides singing?
A visitor, just emerging ‘ from his car, saw me gazing toward the sound and joined me in listening.
“I bet he hasn’t got a mate yet,” he commented.
