James Whale directed three great pictures in the 1930’s - “The Invisible Man”, “Frankenstein”, and “The Bride of Frankenstein.” A cult figure among movie buffs, Whale died in 1957 under mysterious circumstances, drowning in his Hollywood swimming pool.
