A group of youngsters, working through the Arts and Crafts Group, spent a recent day at Kilby’s pond near Sperryville sketching and receiving instructions in art by Mrs. Helen Kilby and other members of the Crafts group. At Kilby’s cabin high on a hillside, Wendy Hill, Cindy Cumins, Susan Coates, Doug Cumins, Dot Bennett, Wendy Montague and Janet Montague participated. They sketched scenes around the farm which offered views of the mountains, orchards and ponds. A program of Band Music and Fireworks will be held July 4 at Avon Hall, horde of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Carrigan who cordially invited the community to share in this annual patriotic program honoring our Day of Independence. Sitting places for the best view will be available high on the hill back of the courthouse.
