Tax Relief deadline

The deadline for filing an application for tax relief for the low income elderly and disabled is July 1. For additional information call the Commissioner of Revenue Office at 675-3513.

Benefit “cutathon ” planned

The Hair Cuttery of Culpeper will be giving haircuts for only $5 each during the Fourth of July celebration in Washington. They will be located on the porch of the Rappahannock Department of Social Services building on Gay Street from noon until 4 p.m. They are doing this “cutathon” as a public service to benefit child and family programs run by the Department of Social Services. All proceeds will be donated to the department and be used for child abuse prevention and family preservation work. They will also hold drawings for prizes throughout the day. Children’s parade set

Children in the area are invited to “decorate their wheels” and join in the fun of the annual “Parade of Wheels” at the 4th of July celebration in the Town of Washington. Wagons, wheelbarrows, skate boards, roller blades, bicycles, tricycles and strollers are all part of the festive parade this year. Prizes will be awarded to those the judges consider “the most patriotically decorated.” The parade is open to children from birth to 14 years of age. Ministry team plans services

A College Ministry Team will be conducting creative worship services at the Washington Baptist Church June 27-30 at 7:30 p.m. and the public is invited. For more information call the church office at 675-3336.
