This is the week of the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Carnival beginning Wednesday, June 23. The parade will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, on U. S. 211.
Crowning for the winners of the Queen, Junior Miss, and Little Miss will be held on Friday, June 25 at 8 p.m. Winners are determined by the number of raffle tickets they sell and several of the girls will be at the carnival on Wednesday and Thursday nights selling tickets if you need to purchase one.
The raffle drawing is Saturday, June 26 which is also the last night for the carnival. Come out and support your local fire and rescue company.
The Amissville United Methodist Church will hold their Vacation Bible School beginning July 12 through July 16 from 9 a.m. until 12.
Vacation Bible School is open to all kindergarten through seventh grade. The church is located on U.S. 211. Please call 937-5480 for a preregistration form.
Kady Gum was the guest of TVechia Brown who treated three of her friends to a viewing of “Tarzan” on Saturday, June 19. Mrs. Brown was a brave soul to take four preteens on an outing alone. Sounds like everyone had a great time!
Cathy Lou and Carrington Smith traveled to Cumberland, Md. on Monday, June 14 and Tuesday, June 15 to attend services at Central Assembly. Guest speaker was Rev Kilpatrick of Brownsville Assembly in Pensacola, Fla., where they have had a continuous revival for four years.
