Summertime is here and the heat is on, I really think we need to get a public pool in Amissville. As you read in last week's paper, the construction has started on the new Amissville Post Office. I have seen a couple big pieces of equipment out there. I can't wait until it’s finished.
The Amissville Homemakers had their annual picnic on Tuesday, July 11 at the home of Lynda Smet. Thank you to Lynda for opening her home. The next meeting is Aug. 7 at 7:30 at the Amissville Baptist Church. This meeting is the International dinner, given by Virginia Settle and Iva Lam.
The AACA monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, July 13 at 7 p.m. at the Amissville United Methodist Church. All members are encouraged to attend, as we will be voting on the signs for Amissville. Narrowing it down to two signs and then letting the citizens of Amissville decide.
There will be a container with each sign picture on it, and the sign with the most money at the end of August will be the winning sign. The containers will be posted at Mayhugh's and Hackley's. We will also be discussing the application that was submit
