tigators have "several promising leads. We re following up on them."
Special Agent Daryl Bullens, who is the chief investigator from the state police assigned to the vandalism of Montpelier, "said he is confident the case will be solved but it does take time," according to Caldwell.
Montpelier, which is located on Route 231 about seven miles south of Sperryville, was viciously vandalized sometime between the evening of May 15 and the afternoon of May 20. The house is owned by the four daughters of the late James W. "Jim Bill" Fletcher, a prominent lawyer and landowner. The daughters have said nothing was stolen. It was unoccupied at the time of the vandalism.
