Be it resolved, by the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County, that it praises unreservedly the actions of local volunteer fire and rescue companies, particularly the Sperryville Fire Company, under the direction of Chief Richie V. Burke, the Sperryville Rescue Squad, the Flint Hill Fire & Rescue Company, the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company and the Castleton Fire & Rescue Company ..."
This resolution, passed unanimously by the Board of Supervisors at their December meeting, also praised County Administrator John McCarthy for "going beyond the call of duty," and recognized the efforts of neighboring jurisdictions, the local Director of the Office of Emergency Services Col. D.C. Kneupfer, and his deputy Jim Marangoni, Sheriffs Office personnel, Virginia State Police, and various State agencies in contributing to the Shenandoah Complex fire fighting.
