The Rappahannock Library's new well is a gusher, producing 40 gallons a minute, according to Larry LeHew. Mr. LeHew, owner, of LeHew Drilling Company of Front Royal, donated the 260-foot deep well to the library. "The people of Rappahannock County have been good to me over the years, and I wanted to give something back to the community," Mr. LeHew explained. Alex Sharp will serve as the local staff person for the Piedmont Environmental Council, PEC announced la^st week. Mr. Sharp has been involved for the past 12* years in the apple business in Rappahannock County, and has owned and operated the cold storage in Sperryville since 1985.
In his new position, Mr. Sharp will be responsible for assisting landowners in preserving open space through the donation of open space easements and the creation of agricultural and forestal districts.
