• Many thanks to Mrs. Melbry Paratore and Dr. David Gangel for organizing College Night at RCHS on Tuesday, Nov. 28. VPI, George Mason University and James Madison University (the three college to which most RCHS students traditionally apply and are accepted) sent representatives to talk to Middle and High School students and parents about admission criteria and expectations Those who attended found the evening to be informative and very worthwhile. Because of the positive reviews, you may expect to have more opportunities like this in the future.
• A Public Presentation on the State Funding Formula which determines how state funds are distributed to school districts (ours specifically) will be held in the RCHS Auditorium on Tuesday, Dec. 19. This is a topic which affects all of us.
• This is such a fun and festive time for all of us in the school system. It is such fun to see the joy and anticipation on the faces of our children (and staff) as we all prepare for the holiday season. Children are naturally excited by so many changes around them. Please encourage your children to get lots of rest, and to maintain as normal a schedule as possible, in spite of all the distractions. Have a wonderful week!
