County to host Education
Funding Program
In his "About our Schools" report to the Board, Schools Superintendent Dr. David Gangel noted that the Rappahannock County High School Auditorium will be the venue for a program conducted in support of the Virginia Joint Legislative Audit Review Commission's (JLARC) investigation into public education j funding. Dr. Gangel said that JLARC is seeking information on the prevailj ing cost of public education in the I Commonwealth and that the Rappahannock event, to be held on Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m., will be hosted by the Virginia Consortium for i _ Adequate Resources for Education 1 T' with the participation of the Virginia Association of School Superintendents and the Rappahannock County Public Schools.

The Board of Supervisors also • heard from James O'Neill, who is serving as a local resource for small businesses. Mr. O'Neill’s efforts are funded by a State, grant, and he is available, at no charge, to assist those who wish to start a business or who need assistance with their existing business.
His office is located at Germanna Community College, but he said that he can arrange to meet in the County with anyone seeking help. He can be reached at 540-727-3073.
Sprint PCS
application status
County Attorney Peter Luke , and County Administrator John McCarthy reported that the Sprint PCS cell tower application is still on hold, and that their appeal before the BZA of the Zoning Administrator decisions regarding their application has been continued, at their request, until Dec. 27.
The BZA has until Jan. 25, 2001 to. make a decision regarding the appeal.
