The basketball players of the past were once again invited to participate in an'Alumni Tournament.
It's been several years since the last tournament, but this year brought out several new players to go along with many of Rappahannock County High School's stars of the past.
Thirty-five men were divided up into four teams that had players from as far back as Bill Deal (class of 1971) to last years' graduates, such as Irvin Phillips, Clint Wines, Daniel and Michael Settle.
Four Captains/Coaches met several days before the tournament with high school Athletic Director, Jon Smythe and drafted the teams. Gary Settle (1979), Jason Baldwin (1998), Kevin Jolliffe (1993), and Walter Frye (1987) all picked and led their teams to two nights of friendly competition.
In the end, Gary Settles' team of Gary, Jeff Atkins (1997), Mike Atkins (1985), Michael Leake (1983), Irvin Phillips (2000), Jason Butler (1991), Bobby Jenkins (1991), R.J. White (1998), Richie Lillard (1993) and Brooke Miller (1978) were the Men's overall champions.
