As is so often the story in Rappahannock County, caring people reunited Amber and Mbses just before Christmas! Jonathan Deal, a junior at Rappahannock High School who had seen the kitten for three weeks, became concerned about its fate during the winter break when school would be closed. He fed the kitten and t!ook it around to neighbors near the school to try to find its owner.
Sharron Proper told Jonathan she thought the kitten belonged to someone at the Country Cafe. Jonathan took the kitten to the elementary school to Amber's aunt Joyce Wharton.
"Joyce called momma at the sheriff s office and told her to look in the car parked at the Country Cafe to see if that cat was Moses! Momma did. She shined that light in the back of the car and there was Moses!"
As grandmother Lee Anna Wharton said, "I'd like to have seen the smile on that girl's face when Lisa opened the door and had Moses in her arms! That was the best Christmas present of all." v
