Allegheny Power’s
customers to see
new item on bills
As a part of Virginia's move toward implementing a competitive energy supply market, the General Assembly has approved changes in the way utility services are taxed. Beginning this month, Allegheny Power's Virginia customers will see a new line item on their bills identified as a Consumption Tax.
While the Consumption Tax is a new line item on electric bills, it is not an additional tax. State and local taxes were previously included in electric base rates.
