"Momma flashed the light in the back of the car and there was Moses!" The words rushed from Amber as she happily called me to announce her kitten's safe return home.
On Halloween night Lisa Dodson, dispatcher at the Rappahannock Sheriffs Office, headed down Pearl Lane and onto US 211 to go to work. Near the high school she heard a thump under her car and immediately stopped to investigate. Moses, a kitten raised and loved by daughter Amber, was seen running off into the dark.
Many weeks of searching the area by Lisa and her mother, Lee Anna Wharton, failed to uncover Amber's beloved Moses.
An ad in the newspaper did not i* bring Moses home. Amber, during many walks on the lane with me and our jointly owned puppy Max, tearfully recalled many of her fun times with Moses and Max.
Amber had carried that kitty like a baby and was often seen putting Moses in the carriage and wheeling him around the house. Moses returned the admiration and clung to Amber with love. Amber grieved and cried for her beloved kitten as she remembered Moses and told me sto
