tus. The tournament consisted of triple A high schools Meadowbrook, George Wythe, Colonial Heights, Huguenot, Varina, Governors School; double A schools King George, Nottoway, and host Matoaca; . other single A schools like RCHS were Cumberland and Amelia.
Rappahannock County High School finished ninth overall ahead of Cumberland, Amelia, and Governors School. This was the largest tournament any Rapp wrestlers had ever seen and was a tremendous experience as they begin to wrestle their way to the District tournament in February.
Their next competition has them in a quad meet at Luray High School with other wrestlers from St. James High School and Randolph Macon Academy.
The tournament was a round-robin style event with each wrestler facing three to five opponents during the day. The top four wrestlers in each weight class placed and earned medals. Three RCHS wrestlers were in this group.
