We re also ccmcerned about the lack of funding for an approved increase in the salaries of constitutional officers, and the need for additional money needed by our schools to prepare our students to pass the Standards of Learning.
One of the bills to be introduced on the opening day of the 2001 session is House Joint Resolution 533, which deals with the upcoming redistricting.
HJ 533 calls for special meeting of the House, Senate and the Governor after the regular session — when all of the 2000 Census numbers are in — to redraw district lines. But much of the thought process — and politics — will start in the General Assembly.
