Hart, a student at Fauquier High School and Lord Fairfax Community College, was arrested Jan. 12 after authorities found in his home in Hume, two black Derby riding hats that they said were "antiques" taken from Montpelier. Hart is the son of the late Frederick E. Hart, world renown sculptor, who died from lung cancer at the age of 56 on Aug. 13, 1999. Another teenager, Richard P. Sitorius, 19, of Flint Hill, was arrested in connection with Montpelier and charged with felony destruction of property and trespassing. He said that Hart went into the mansion, which was vacant, to "consume alcohol and to party." Law enforcement authorities have said that the teenagers started out with alcohol and partying and then they become "uninhibited." "It started as foolishness and became frenzy and they literally destroyed everything in their path," is the way First Sgt. Dana A.
