Mrs. Craig was born Feb. 14, 1929 in Rappahannock County, daughter of the late James H. and Carrie Rutherford Smoot.
She had been a seasonal worker for Byrd's Cannery and Winchester Apple Growers. She was the wife of the late Russell E. Craig.
Surviving are a son Robert E. Rutherford of Frederick County; two daughters, Mary K. Booth of Middletown and Elizabeth A. See of White Post; two sisters, Patsy Carpenter of Boyce and Carolina Evans of Moline, 111.; a brother Winfield Smoot of Frederick County; eight grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.

Thomas Oliver McGovern Jr., 81, of Front Royal died Saturday, Jan. 27 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. Jimmy Burke. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. McGovern was born Sept. 19, 1919, son of the late Thomas O. and Nellie Wood McGovern. He was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart for injuries received in France during 1944.
