Wrestling
Rappahannock wrestlers had a good day at George Mason High School and just missed a great day by six points. The team went 1-1-1 for a day by besting Stonewall Jackson at Mt. Jackson 51-24, tying District rival George Mason 42-42 and losing to New Kent of Richmond by a slim four points 36-40. The wrestlers learned the importance of having a full squad (Varsity and JV), by giving up a forfeit at 145 and losing by 4 points and by earning four forfeits against Stonewall and insuring the victory.
Entering the last three weeks of the regular season, Rappahannock is learning the level of dedication, both on and off the mat, wrestling requires to be successful.
In the New Kent match, Rapp went to early 24-10 lead with pins by Robinson, Ferdetta, Rodrigues, and Hensley. New Kent's experience in the middle and upper weights allowed them to exploit some mistakes by Rappahannock. New Kent took the lead at 152 and was able to hold on to finish the meet four points over Rappahannock, despite a pin by Panther Chris Graves at
