In Rappahannocks only district meet of the year, the Panther squad had one chance to prove their standing for the district tournament on Feb. 17. They took advantage of the opportunity by forcing George Mason to tie in a match that saw the lead change hands four times. Rapp jumped out to an early 18-6 lead with pins by Robinson, Ferdetta, and Rodrigues. George Masons middleweights showed their strength by winning the next five weight classes.
Starting at 160 with a pin by Chris Graves and followed by pins by Rieneijer, Scroggins, and Graves, Rappahannock took the next four before losing at 275. Giving up a forfeit at 145 and wrestling Norman up from 215 to 275, the Panther squad turned in an impressive performance.

On Sunday, Jan. 28, Softball Coaches Jon Smythe and Richie Burke, continued a working clinic for all positions, emphasizing infielder play. Next Sunday, Feb. 3, all position players are again invited out for instruction. Softball and baseball players in grades 6-12 can attend this instruction next Sunday at the Rappahannock High School gym.
