Town elections set

, The Washington Town Council ejection will be held on Tuesday, May 7 with polls opening at 6 a.m. end closing at 7 p.m. The last day for absentee voting is Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information call County Registrar Nancy S. Newfin at 675-5380.

Croquet Classic

at Gray Ghost

Join Gray Ghost Winery for a day of Victorian fun! Gray Ghost will host the second annual Croquet Classic on Saturday, May 4 with festivities beginning promptly at 11 a.m. Participants pHay in two qualifying rounds before the grand Championship game.

Awards will be presented following the games. The games take place all day so bring a picnic, enjoy a bottle of wine and watch the action.

This evening with the oandidate is hosted by the local Democratic committee, ahd all are welcome. ^ .Ben Jones, local businessman and owner of "Coder's Garage” in Sperryville, is also a former ’Congressman from Georgia having* |ffved two terms from 1969td 1993. Jones is currently * candidate for the 7th Congressional District seat in the House of Representatives which includes Rappahannock and runs from Page County all the way down to Richmond.

On Tuesday, May 7, Ben will share his thoughts (and probably some stones) about Congress, his decision to run for office again, the Vrork that needs to be done, the experiences he brings to the job, some of the issues which are important to him, and some of the differences between him and the other candidate. There will be Ample time for questions and conversation.

Neighbors from Page, Madison jind Culpeper counties have been ihvited and will be joining the group at the Library. Great refreshments are guaranteed to be plentiful, and {here is, of course, no admission Charge.
