zoning and planning ordinances, widening of US 211, new wings at both the elementary and high schools, approval of seven cell towers in the County, the landfill and refuse centers as well as a number of new restaurants and businesses. Not a whole lot, but we sort of like it that way.
It will continue our fundamental purpose to see that this newspaper presents in a concise and truthful way the day-to-day news of which our history is made — to report it without prejudice on the news pages and attack issues where a constructive purpose can be served on the editorial page. History is really only masses of day-to-day gossip, but what people cannot read and hear they are likely to fear and misunderstand.
The Rappahannock News consists of about the same number of words each week whether or not there is any big news in it, words which can be razors or can be as the warmth of a summer’s morning.
