Public School System

Volunteer Recognition last week was a huge success! We were happy to see so many volunteers in attendance. Many thanks to Delegate Allen Louderback for attending and delivering a resolution from the House of Delegates honoring the citizens of Rappahannock for their incredible Volunteer Spirit. The RCES and RCHS Bands played under the direction of Mrs. Lynne Fournier.

The RCHS Cheerleaders escorted the volunteers into the gym (as the Olympic Theme was played by the band) and led cheers to honor them. Our County Administrator John McCarthy was on hand along with County Supervisors Robert Anderson and Roger Welch, and School Board members Aline Johnson, Rosa Crocker and Rose Anne Sharp.

Our public schools’ superintendent Dr. David Gangel and our building principals Mr. Joe Perine and Mrs. Raye Tupper were in attendance to thank our volunteers and to remember special volunteers that we have lost this year.

Mrs. Alice Pullen, who just celebrated her 90th birthday, and has volunteered for 50 years throughout Rappahannock, was in attendance. She is
