A report from the Rappahannock Industrial and Development Committee says that the $30,000 mark has been passed in pledges for the erection of an Aileen Manufacturing Plant in Rappahannock County. If anyone has pledged to invest and has not turned in the money, contact may be made with H.S. Barksdale in Flint Hill. Enthusiasm is running high and we are now assured of the location of the industry here.
Mrs. Wallace Critzer, Mayor of the Town of Washington, will attend a luncheon Friday at the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester for visiting mayors and other guests. She will ride in the feature parade, after which she will join other dignitaries in viewing the remainder of the parade from the reserved section in the judges grandstand.
In all of its beauty and fragrance, the big orchard on Clover Hill Farm, Woodville was the setting for a hay ride and wiener roast which was thoroughly enjoyed Saturday night by 28 young people from the Woodville community.
Miss Helen Fuller, assisted by her house guest, Mrs. Melvyn Douglas, entertained at her annual spring party at her home on Long Mountain / Saturday, April 28. Her guests for the lamb barbecue were friends of long standing from many sections of the United States who look forward from year to year to this gathering.
