Track Coach
This season track and field athletes are showing some good performances. Girls team has been winning meets and boys have individual success. All eyes are pointed at Districts May 15 at Brentsville.
On the girls side, sprint star Ryisha Cook is burning up the track with her speed. She is undefeated in 100 and 200 meters, bringing home gold medals at Invitational against larger schools. She has run state qualifying times already this year. She also long jumps, an event she placed in the state last year.
Teammate Gwen Johnson another speedster has out jumped Ryisha tor the medals this year. These two join together for the relay making exciting things happen. No district team has beaten the relay when these two are starting and anchoring.
The boys team also has speed this year. Greg Jackson, Ryan Brown, Noah Starks, Zach Bridgeman and Daryl Cropp all show good speed and provide excitement in the boys relay. Greg Jackson and Rvan Brown sprint to the finish in the 100 meters but Noah Starks puts on more speed in the 200 meters. Zach Bridgeman metaled last year in the 400 and should do again.
All the sprinters have shown good long jumping form and are placing. Standout among the boys is Ryan Brown, demonstrating great height and technique to jump over 19 feet. He was second in the Warren
