At the Battle , students compete against each other in' contests designed to test their comprehension of the books they read. Corporate sponsors, and friends of B.O.B. have' donated savings bonds, gifts, free coupons for movies, etc. ter each of the contestants. Thisyear, WCDS doubled the nurrr-C her of students taking part in' the Battle, as did many of thfe schools. Last year’s contestants numbered forty-five, but this year’s contestants are nearly 100! The public is encouraged to come watch the fun and to sup^ port the children in this fun,educational contest. I
• WCDS’ annual Spring Ballet Recital will take place Sunday, May 12 at 3 p.m. Students at Wakefield Country Day School whose ages range from three and half to 12 will perform before parents an(J friends for this yearly event' Please come watch our ballet students show off their hard work!
• It’s Prom time at school, and ticket sales are starting to heat up. The dance, sponsored by the Student Government, will take place Saturday, May 11, at the Marriott Ranch Resort. The building and grounds are gorgeous, and the food is not to be missed. Pictures of the couples will be taken under the tree, weather permit,-! ting. As always, dates are not; required to attend Prom; singles are welcome, too. All Prep School students are eligible to; attend. Parents with questions should contact Mrs. Marsha Dowell at 937-3594.
• Prep School parents are getting a treat these days, as tha school bulletin, a weekly news-; paper written by Mrs. Leser about upcoming events, is now on-line. Formerly, parents were' dependent on their children to hand them the bulletin eatji Thursday, which rarely hap; pened (has your teenager hand* ed you anything out of his back* pack lately?). Now parent^ receive the bulletin via compute er and have the advantage £>f finding out what’s going oil before it happens, instead of hearing about it afterwards! Although there’s still a few bug3 to work out, the majority of faruj ilies are satisfied with this neyv move. •*
