A Second in a series. By Maureen Harris Special to the Rappahannock News The number of children in Rappahannock County has been decreasing over the past 30 years, while the number of adults has been increasing, according to an analysis of the 2000 U. S. Census. There was a small decline in the number of preschool children age 0-4 years (391 children in 1970 versus 356 children in 2000). There was also a decline in the number of school-age children (1,558 versus 1,342 children). Both of these declines occurred during the 30-year period when the total Rappahannock News P.O.
