voted last week to withdraw another $5,000 from savings to pay current bills. This is the second time this year it has been necessary to make such a withdrawal. In addition, $4,000 has been withdrawn to pay fines to the State Water Control Board for violations last summer. This will leave about $39,000 in the authority’s savings account.
Robin Purnell is clearly indebted to the time recently spent living in St. Petersburg, Russia. But her work now on view at the Middle Street Gallery springs equally from her mastery of technique. Superior skills are evident, whether she is using paint, pastels or colored pencil.
linda Christine Jenkins, daughter of Khoa Jenkins of Sperryville and the late Charles W. Jenkins, has been named to the first semester dean’s list of honor students at Hollins College in Roanoke. Miss Jenkins, a graduate of Rappahannock County High School, is a sophomore.
