The Headwaters Global Spotlights Committee invites county families, friends and neighbors to an exciting International Festival from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 27 at Rappahannock County High School.

Starting at noon, food booths will be open for an array of enticing tastes from around the world: Mexican tamales, fresh Thai eggrolls, grilled Swiss sausages, Middle-Eastern baklava and other delicacies.

Baubles, bangles, beads, and other exotic treasures from all corners of the globe will be for sale 'haggling is encouraged!) under the international bazaar tent. Items for sale, at very reasonable prices, will include handmade bags and purses, jew-elry, small art objects, scarves and fabrics, an Indian painting, Chinese kites and much more.

Throughout the afternoon, there will be music and dance both inside and outside the school, from Irish dancers to West African drummers to Chinese music to belly dancers, with other surprises in between.

The festival is made possible by the Headwaters Global Spotlights Committee. Global Spotlights brought several speakers with international experience into the schools this year and will continue to do so in the future.

Headwaters, the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation, is a non-profit organization established by local volunteers to provide support to Rappahannock County public schools. Its mission is “to foster educational excellence by cultivating the cooperative spirit and resources of the whole community to benefit all students.”

Proceeds from the festival will go to support ongoing Headwaters’ programs in the schools.
