At the close of a public hearing last Wednesday that was marred by personal attacks and insults, the Rappahannock Planners voted unanimously to recommend denial of a rezoning request from Dorothy Davis. About 20 citizens attended the Planners’ hearing on Mrs. Davis’ request to rezone three and a half acres outside Washington from agriculture to commercial. In the application, she proposed to use the existing buildings on the property for sale, repair and refinishing of antiques, sale of arts and crafts, farmer’s market and other related or compatible uses.
