"We concentrate our enforcement efforts on the mountain," said Settle. He said when a trooper spots a reckless motorcyclist speeding it is difficult for a trooper to turn around on the curves to chase him. "It is not as easy as on a motorcycle," Settle said.
When a trooper clocks a speeding motorcyclist from down at the bottom of the mountain on Route 211 and radios up to a trooper near the top giving a description of the bike so that it can be stopped, that trooper has to be able to pick out the motorcyclist from a group of them and sometimes it is difficult, said Settle.
