The Historic Resources Board also will consider seven new highway markers and seven TEA-21-funded replacement markers. The 14 markers represent nearly every region of the Commonwealth.
In a separate action, the State Review Board of the Department of Historic Resources will consider recommending to the agency director that the 22 properties considered for the Virginia Landmarks Register also be nominated to the National Register of Historic Places.
All nominations to both the Virginia and national registers are made either at the request, or with the willing consent, of the property owners.
