So I filled out the application, copied it, went to the bank for a notary, paid $5 for a $50 money order, bought a large envelope and mailed it to the county courthouse for 96 cents.
Then I relaxed. There was plenty of time. All they had to do was confirm that I have no felony convictions and no outstanding warrants. This is the same thing a police officer can do in two minutes with a Social Security number.
