Friday's play was devoted to singles with Jonathan Maeyer capturing the 16 and Under title from Willie Eastham after an exciting playoff match ending in a tie breaker from Willie Eastham.
Employment at the Aileen plant in Flint Hill has taken a sharp turn toward better days. About half of the 30 laid-off workers have been called back to work, and the reduced work week, which affected 50 additional workers, is approaching 40 hours. The plant will call back even more workers next week, said plant manager Charles 'Charlie" Currence, "and I hope we can keep it up."
On Thursday, Sept. 16 the Rappahannock Unit of the American Cancer Society is hosting its second annual luncheon and faahinn show at the Bleu Rock Inn. The show will feature the fashion collections of Christine Fox, concentrating on understated elegant sportswear and evening wear.
