The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC) will kick off its 2003-2004 Second Friday at the Library series on Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. with a presentation by David Hoadley. who has been a Great Plains storm photographer for the past 47 years. Hoadley. son-in-law of former Rappahannock News editor Sarah Latham, will talk about his experience as a tornado chaser, and will include slides and video of tornadoes, along with a discussion of storm dynamics, structure and safety measures.
Weaving class
Misty Mountain Farm will host an introduction to weaving class on Saturday. Sept. 6 from 10 a m. to 4 p.m. Students will warp a loom and weave a scarf in their favorite colors. Class fee is $50 and includes materials and lunch. To register, call Linda Witt at 937-4707.

Family reunion Aug.30
The family and friends of Thomas Franklin and Louise Vashtie Jenkins will hold their annual family reunion on Aug. 30 at 12 noon. The gathering will be held at the Rappahannock Recreation Center in Washington. All are asked to bring food to share.

Democrats to meet Sept. 2
The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the county library. Tom Lewis, Democratic candidate for the House of Delegates will make his third visit and discuss updates on the Delegate race. Brad Blanton from Page County will introduce himself as a candidate for the House of Representatives for the 2004 election. The meeting is open to all.
