1 Tammy Fritts is queen of the Washington Firemens Carnival and received her tiara from retiring queen Janet Alther. Dee Dee Grant was also a contestant. Tammy will act as Honorary Fire Chief for the WVFD for the next year representing the company in parades and other events.
Women's Libbers could have a field day in Malaysia, according to Mary Elizabeth Snead who is a Peace Corp volunteer assigned there. In tapes and letters received from Lib, her parents, Judge and Mrs. R. V.Snead of Washington, have shared some of the information with us. Womens rights are few in Malaysia. Men always eat first and women usually eat in the kitchen.
In view of the increasing interest in planning in the county, the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection will devote the first part of its annual meeting to a talk on planning by Rosser E Payne. Since Rappahannock County now faces the necessity of developing a comprehensive plan under state mandate, many of the citizens who are apprehensive about the prospect may find Mr. Payne's presentation of special interest.
