a ‘hit’ for 65 years Bob and Virginia Scott celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary at the Greenbrier in W. Va. on Aug. 17. On that date in 1938 they “eloped” from California to Yuma, Ariz., avoiding the three day waiting period. Virginia was on a short vacation from Chicago were she was an NBC radio artist singing with her sisters and brother on network shows. Bob was rehearsing for a juvenile lead role in a west coast tryout for a Broadway play. Fortunately, it became a hit with a two year run. Their marriage is still running.
