nappahannock skies
The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection will sponsor “An Astronomical Event” on Sunday, Aug. 31 at the Washington Fire Hall at 8:30 p.m. Mars is only 145 times the distance to the moon from earth and you may want to get a good look at it. The next time this planet will be as close is 284 years from now. This is a family event. Light refreshments will be served. Binoculars and telescopes will be available. Norman family reu nion
The annual Norman reunion will be held on Sunday, Aug. 31 at the Rappahannock Park on Route 211 in Washington. All relatives and friends are invited to attend. Please bring a covered dish and a beverage. Plates, cups and plastic utensils will be provided. A picnia4unch will be served around 1 p m. at the Pavilion “rain or shinte.” Bring a chair in case you may need it.
Jenkins family reunion
The family of the late Aubrey R. and Ellen Baker Jenkins will hold its reunion at the Rappahannock Recreation Park m Washington on Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. All family members and friends are invited for a day of good food, games, prizes and lots of fun.
