Cook begins by looking at photographs taken over the years to find subject matter where there is a retd connection between people. A small sketch is done and evaluated followed by a charcoal and cont£ drawing on gessoed paper. After saying “what if" and considering changes, a small color study is done. Finally, having satisfied herself with format and color choices, the larger acrylic painting is begun.
